Why We Were Appointed:
Faction was selected for our experience in healthcare projects, stakeholder engagement, and ability to coordinate complex design and fit-out requirements. Our collaborative approach ensured the clinic met both operational and community expectations.

Client Challenge:
The Eastern Shore of Hobart lacked a permanent BreastScreen Tasmania clinic, relying solely on annual mobile units. There was a need to:

  • Improve screening access and capacity for local communities

  • Deliver a purpose-built, client-focused facility

  • Ensure operational efficiency while providing privacy and comfort for clients

Results / Outcomes / Metrics:

  • First permanent mammography screening clinic on Hobart’s Eastern Shore, replacing the annual mobile unit visit

  • Increased public screening capacity, freeing mobile units to visit rural and regional locations

  • Significant boost to access and screening rates in Clarence and Sorell local government areas

  • Improved client experience through private, comfortable facilities

  • Demonstrated collaboration between Faction, architects, contractors, DoH, and stakeholders to deliver a meaningful community project

  • Public recognition from Minister for Health, Jacquie Petrusma, for contribution to life-saving health services.
