Gold Coast Health & Knowledge Precinct
Why We Were Appointed
Originally built as a complex of residential towers to host 6,600 of the world’s greatest athletes, the village was converted into 1,251 apartments and townhouses, with a precinct boasting a supermarket, dining outlets, and a boutique retailer.
The project included many project issues and critical success factors, such as:
Securing government support for infrastructure
Acquiring support from other industries (e.g. Griffith University)
24/7 activation strategy
Livable Housing Australia (LHA) design certification
Stakeholder management
Designing the social fabric of a new community
Setting up a blended owner-occupier, sustainable model.
The multi-award winning development is a pilot project for Green Star Communities sustainability rating, and achieved full marks in areas of ecosystems, waste management, energy, materials and community.
